La Otra Mujer
I got my Sony Vaio Type T this morning... It's the only piece of equipment sexier than a MacBook - which is to say very sexy. Her name is July. Weighing in at only 1.0 kg, she sports a dual core Centrino processor running at 1.20 GHz, 2 GB RAM, and a 160 GB hard drive, which should be enough to power my xemacs.Just 1 kg! It's incredible what they can do these days. They're only sold in Japan though, so far, I think. The price was 225,000 yen, if you're interested. The idea is that it should be convenient enough to carry with me everywhere I go, so I can take any opportunity I get to do some coding.
Now, the name July comes from my scheme of naming computers I build/buy/get after the month, or the following month if it's already taken. So far I've got these ones named: November (Pentium 4/Gentoo Linux), June (Athlon 64/Windows XP), October (Pentium 4/Windows XP), December (Core 2 Duo/Gentoo Linux), January (MacBook Pro/Windows XP), and now also July (Vaio Type T/Windows Vista). The only one I use at home is June, which will be overtaken by July now I suppose, and January at work. December is the office server and October is a build machine now. November is in storage at my mom's place in Sweden...
Seems I usually get new computers in winter and summer, huh!
